Biostatistics and Epidemiology Group
Reducing road accidents and its consequences like injuries and casualties has always been a human concern for the last hundred years. In the meantime, data science and statistics can play an important role in discovering the causes of accidents and finding solutions to reduce it.

Data statistical analysis is an inseparable part of every research. In fMRI studies, applying statistical methods and analyzes is vital for extraction of valuable information and investigation of hypotheses predetermined by researchers. Due to the novelty of the fMRI method, the need for statistical methods is felt. On the other hand, in order to simplify the final results and information, interpretation of fMRI data based on epidemiologic perspective is so important.

In this lab we try to improve the quality of fMRI data analysis and its  interpretation. Interpretation of these data based on epidemiologic view and clinical interests is necessary. As well, we study new statistical methods like machine learning algorithms for applying fMRI data.

Reza Aliakbari Khoei  has PhD degree in biostatistics from Tarbiat Modares University in Iran, who is currently the leader of the Biostatistics and Epidemiology group of Functional Magnetic Resonance Research-Lab.
He also works at Research development and coordination center (RDCC) of TUMS as a biostatistician. His research interests are Survival analysis, Machine learning methods, fMRI studies and Bayesian regression models.
